sgt_murf just loves vtg hats. probably because he looks so good in them. this is a pretty great lot of 7 hats, a purse, a coin bag, 2 millinery flowers,a vtg corsage and 2 pairs of gloves. these items are clean and in wonderful vtg condition. the red hat is a Don Anderson and as you can see it still has the tag. i know for a fact this was purchased in the early 80's and was never worn because i am the one who bought it. it has been stored at my mother's for years and she found it when she was cleaning out her closets last week. the hat was quite pricey when new and remains in excellent well stored condition. some of the netting on the other hats has the usual hole or 2 but nothing bad or noticeable. these are all wearable. i pictured the black hats twice - once with the contrast taken way down so you can see the detail better. i do not smell anything awful on the mink but you may be more sensitive than i am so please consider that these are not items that i was able to launder. wonderful collection here - i can not imagine anyone not being thrilled when they open this package. we will be listing several linen, hanky and other items of interest auctions this week and will be so happy to combine shipping! contact us if you have any questions, thank you for looking and please share the giggles with all your friends!

DESCRIPTION: Princess Kate has started a trend of wearing vintage hats, and I have boxes of them to sell. This is the link in case you wish to watch it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIuP90Y9M-g The body of this hat is comprised of a wide brim straw hat covered in gold lamet accordion pleated fabric. A poly mesh was then added around the crown and over the brim. It has a gold beaded trim dividing the crown from the brim. On the back are 3 large poly mesh flowers with matching leaves that are adorned with gold sequins and beads at the center of each flower and at the tip of the leaves. The crown rises approximately 3 1/2" and the brim measures 3 3/4" at widest point. The gold grosgrain sweatband measures 22" (55.88 cm) around. Flaws: There is crinkling on the accordion pleats as shown in picture 5; however, this is how it was when I received it, and I am unsure as to whether this is a flaw or the way it was made. It doesn't detract from the hat though. Even though the starting bid is very low, most of these hats are of a medium to high quality, so please do not underestimate their true value. Each one has been painstakingly cleaned, sterilized and blocked to the best of my ability. I may miss some dust or a minor flaw, but I do my best to describe each one. I have no sense of smell; so therefore, I package each one with a piece of fabric softener sheet and seal it in a plastic bag. I do not smoke; however, I cannot guarantee that the former owners have not done so. NOTE: I do combine wins to save you on shipping. If your hat is misshapen during shipping, please use the steam from a teakettle and your hands to reshape it.
