Vintage Men’s Mallory XV Fedora Hat Duplex Edge 7 1/2 Picture(s) and Description:

This is another stunning example of a vintage hat from a great hat manufacturer of years past IN A LARGE SIZE! This is a Mallory "fifteen" and boasts a 'Duplex Edge' which is basically the same thing as Stetson's 'Mode Edge' and Cavanagh's 'Cavanagh Edge'- the edge has been turned back on itself and felted. There are no stitches with this process and it is a thing that has yet to be reproduced on any modern hat due to the amount of labor and cost required. The fedora is gray with a nearly 1 3/4 inch black ribbon with a matching wind string. The sweatband is in perfect condition with not one stitch popped anywhere. The liner is also clean and still sewn in. Really, the only issue I found with this beauty is the fact that the size tag has fallen out. The size can easily be identified by the paper sticker under the sweatband and the measurements. Personally this hat screams of classic 1930's proportions. While I am not sure it is quite that old it is indeed a vintage hat with a style that is truly reminiscent of a bygone time. Do not miss out on such a great fedora!
