Up for auction is a very cool vintage 1940's Royal Stetson Fedora hat. The hat is a very nice gray color with the original black woven headband. The stitching in the headband is a light pink and very cool! This hat is made of real beaver felt, that is very thick and soft. Marked on the inside of the leather headband "Royal Stetson" and then where it was sold originally "St. Clair-Kovaleske of Le Mars, Iowa". Has the original satin liner and is marked with an early Stetson logo. Tough to see with the reflection of the protective clear plastic over the crown of the liner. This hat measures out to be a mens size 7 3/8. Actual measurements around the inner headband is 22 1/2 inches. The brim of the hat measures 2 inches and the crown measures approx. 4 inches tall. Overall condition is very nice for its age. The inner headband is in great shape, satin liner is nice, outer headband is in great shape, color is very nice with no fading, no repairs, no holes, no silverfish bites, no tears and no creases. Remains of the original owners name on the inner plastic cover that was written in ink years ago. Does not effect the hat and has worn off from over the years. Very rare high quality hat from this era and is a must for any collector. Tough to find in this style and size! Found safely stored away at a recent 80 year smoke free estate.
